Do you know what a business buyer persona is? A buyer persona is a semi-fictional representation of your ideal customer. A buyer persona helps you focus your time and efforts on qualified prospects and have a deep understanding of your target audience.
So, how do you create a buyer persona?
Buyer personas can be created through research, surveys, and interviews. Some practical methods to develop a buyer persona can be:
- See your contact database to discover trends about leads
- Consider the feedback of your sales team
- Interview your customers about what they like about your product or service
When you have done your research, the next step is to use your research to identify commonalities among your audience. Then, with the previous information, develop a primary persona. The persona has to have the characteristics of a real person, and it has to be as detailed as possible. Make sure you know the following information about your persona:
- Job role
- What is a typical day
- About personal life
- Educational background
- Career path
- About social life
- Create a name
- Draw your buyer persona
- Any other relevant information
Be as detailed as possible. Know your buyer persona as you know yourself. Now, if somebody asks you, “Do you know what a business buyer persona is?” you can certainly answer yes!
